Two up-and-coming members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona have this week been afforded respective places in the club’s squad for the league phase of the upcoming edition of the Champions League.
The pair in question? Marc Bernal, and Roony Bardghji.
Both midfielder Bernal and attacker Bardghji had been considered doubts to be named in Barcelona’s European squad for the months ahead.
In the case of the former, as much came owing to his recent long-term spell on the sidelines with an ACL injury.
Summer signing Bardghji, meanwhile, was recently registered with Barca Atlètic on the domestic front, throwing his situation somewhat into doubt.
But as alluded to above, neither player need fret.
This comes amid confirmation that Bernal and Bardghji have been afforded first-team squad numbers, after being included in the Blaugrana’s Champions League squad list for the competition’s league phase.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Barcelona have registered Roony Bardghji in the Champions League squad with the number 28. Marc Bernal also registered, with the number 22 shirt.’
