Two Barcelona youngsters could be called up vs Girona after being spotted in training again

Two members of the academy ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona could be afforded first-team call-ups for the club’s next outing.

This comes after both were spotted in training alongside Hansi Flick’s squad once more on Friday.

Barcelona are of course primed to kick their campaign back into gear tomorrow evening.

A La Liga meeting with Catalan rivals Girona lies in wait, with the Blaugrana eyeing a return to winning ways following a pair of back-to-back defeats heading into the international break.

In efforts towards as much, however, Flick and his staff will be forced to make do without the services of a whole host of important players.

The likes of Joan García, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski have already been ruled out through respective injuries.

As much has opened the door for several up-and-coming youngsters to test their talents at senior level at the Ciutat Esportiva across the week to date.

And two such players could yet be rewarded for their exploits by way of places in Barca’s squad to face Girona on Saturday.

After attacking midfielder/winger Juan Hernández and right-back Xavi Espart were called upon by Hansi Flick once more this morning, both have been widely tipped for a matchday berth for the Catalan Derby.
