Two members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona look set to miss the club’s upcoming season opener.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Wojciech Szczęsny and Gerard Martín as the pair in question.
The Barcelona board are of course currently hard at work behind the scenes, in an effort to ensure that as many members of Hansi Flick’s squad as possible are available for selection for the club’s season opener.
This comes as the Blaugrana prepare to lock horns with RCD Mallorca on Saturday evening.
The priority as things stand is to push Joan García’s registration over the line, with fellow summer signing Marcus Rashford next in line.
As alluded to above, however, whilst confidence is high that enough will be done to have both Joan and Rashford available, two others look set to be forced to watch on from afar.
As per a report from AS:
‘The Blaugrana club considers it very unlikely at this time that Szczęsny and Gerard Martín can be registered before this Saturday afternoon, the deadline for registering players when the rosters of the players called up for Mallorca-Barça are submitted to the referee.’
