Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold on Sunday secured for himself an altogether undesirable season benchmark.
This comes owing to his wastefulness in possession in the club’s latest outing.
Real Madrid were of course back in action last night, making the trip to minnows Elche for a La Liga clash.
Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, was in from the off, afforded a rare chance to impress in a starting role by boss Xabi Alonso.
En route to a disappointing 2-2 draw, the Englishman was one of few Blancos players actually singled out for praise by the club’s supporters, owing chiefly to his dangerous delivery from out wide.
But as alluded to above, this did not stop Alexander-Arnold from playing his way into an entirely negative statistic over the course of the 90 minutes.
As revealed by the reliable Opta on ‘X’:
‘Trent Alexander-Arnold lost possession 25 times in the match against Elche, a record for a Real Madrid outfield player in a single game in all competitions since Vinícius Júnior against Athletic Club in April 2025.’
