A transfer-linked member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad will be going nowhere until January at the earliest.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Umar Sadiq as the player in question.
Frontman Sadiq was for his part heavily linked with a fresh departure from San Sebastian over the summer.
After enjoying a solid loan stint on the books of Valencia over the 2nd half of last season, the Nigerian international was named as a target for a whole host of clubs across Europe and beyond.
Sadiq is not thought to feature in the plans of new Real Sociedad boss Sergio Francisco, with those in the boardroom at Anoeta having therefore opened the door to a sale.
As alluded to above, however, for the time being at least, Sadiq looks set to stay put.
As per a report from MD:
‘With the Qatari league market closing, it’s safe to say that Sadiq Umar, who was the most sought-after player, is definitely staying at Real Sociedad this season, at least until January.’
