Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has sparked widespread chatter across Spain late this week.
This comes owing to a round of comments laid out by the youngster regarding Barca’s arch rivals, Real Madrid.
The headine fixture of the Spanish football calendar is of course set to play out this weekend.
The matchup in question will see Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid act as hosts, in a meeting with Hansi Flick’s Barca at the Santiago Bernabéu.
It is the former who currently sit pretty atop the La Liga table, two points clear of the reigning champions amid a tense battle for Spanish football supremacy.
Last season, it was Barcelona who completely dominated the Clásico, courtesy of four wins from four across all competitions.
As much culminated in a domestic treble for the Blaugrana come the term’s end.
And as alluded to above, ahead of the season’s first Clásico this weekend, a leading member of Hansi Flick’s squad has aimed quite a dig at Real Madrid.
Lamine Yamal recently sat down for an interview with The Kings League’s official Youtube channel (as cited by ESPN), during which the winger was asked if Los Blancos ‘steal’ in Spanish football.
And Lamine was not at all hesitant in responding:
“Yes, they steal and then complain. That’s what they do.”
