The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid are of the opinion that only two members of the club’s squad have performed to the level expected of them across the season to date.
This of course comes fresh off something of a low point in Los Blancos’ campaign to date on Wednesday.
Fresh off making the call to dismiss manager Xabi Alonso earlier in the week, Real made the trip to 2nd-tier Albacete last night, for a Copa del Rey clash.
When all was said and done, the visitors were condemned to the wrong side of a shock 3-2 result, seeing their chances of securing silverware for the term reduced once more.
This development has since culminated in the heavy criticism of the club’s star-studded squad mounting once more.
With Xabi Alonso no longer around to shoulder the blame, Real Madrid’s players will be required to stand tall to get things back on track.
As alluded to above, though, amid accompanying internal disappointment at the Bernabéu with the standard of recent performances, two Blancos stars have been spared from criticism.
As per a report from COPE:
‘The belief is that most of the players are underperforming, with the exception of Thibaut Courtois and Kylian Mbappé.’
