Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that youngster Brian Fariñas finally looks set to be afforded the chance to impress as part of his XI over the weeks ahead.
Midfielder Fariñas has for his part spent the season to date training amongst the star-studded first-team ranks in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes after the 20-year-old did enough to convince Hansi Flick and his staff of his readiness to contribute over the course of the campaign.
To date, Fariñas has not seen a single minute of playing time.
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Friday, though, Barca’s headmaster revealed that this situation is imminently set to change.
Amid the ongoing personnel crisis in the Blaugrana’s backline at present, Hansi Flick admitted:
“Brian Fariñas could be an option at full-back; he is very intelligent, he has been training with us since the beginning of the season, and he does a fantastic job. The time has come that he deserves to play.”
