An insight into the demands of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona when it comes to the potential sale of defender Mikayil Faye has on Thursday been provided.
The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, and surrounds a clause to be inserted into any deal which sends the Senegalese out.
First, it is reiterated that Barca are indeed now ready to part ways with Faye before the summer is out.
Amid the club’s difficult financial situation, the 20-year-old has been identified as a necessary source of funds, amid widespread interest in his signature.
The Camp Nou brass have laid out terms of €11 million, plus a further €4 million in add-ons, to move ahead with a sale.
However, only under the circumstances that a buyback clause is included in the agreement, too.
As per MD:
‘With the idea of continuing to have control over Faye, Barça requires anyone who wants to buy the centre-back to have a buy-back option, which would be set at 40 million euros, and would be valid for the first two seasons.’
It now remains to be seen whether or not any of the clubs interested in the stopper’s signature are agreeable to such demands.
