La Liga champions Barcelona could open the door to the departure of a member of the club’s midfield ranks before the month is out.
This comes amid the understanding that Marc Bernal could be allowed to leave on loan.
Youngster Bernal has of course spent the season to date working his way back towards full fitness, following a long-term spell on the sidelines with an ACL injury.
The 18-year-old, though, has along the way largely struggled for game time.
Sitting behind Pedri, Frenkie de Jong and Eric García in the pecking order at the base of Hansi Flick’s midfield, Bernal has been afforded just a solitary start across all competitions this season.
And as much could yet give rise to a temporary parting of ways between club and player this winter.
As per a report from Barcelona insider Alfredo Martinez:
‘In the winter transfer market, no departures are expected from Barcelona’s first-team squad. The only possible one could be that of Marc Bernal so he can get playing time and continue developing. There are several teams interested, but it would be at the close of the market at the end of the month.’
Cesc Fàbregas’ Como are named as one potential landing spot for the Spanish starlet.
