‘The difference is huge’ – Frenkie de Jong claims Barcelona are ‘definitely better’ with teammate back

Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has this week moved to make clear his appreciation for the talents of teammate Robert Lewandowski.

De Jong for his part departed Catalunya’s capital this week, to link up with his compatriots for the November international break.

Faced by the media on Tuesday, the Dutchman was therefore asked for his take on the importance of Robert Lewandowski’s return to fitness in Catalunya’s capital.

And De Jong did not hesitate in admitting:

“With Lewandowski back, our team is definitely better. The difference he makes is huge, everyone knows it. He’s shown it for almost 15 or 20 years, always scoring goals. He’s a top-class striker.”

Frontman Lewandowski is for his part of course fresh off a Man of the Match performance in Barcelona colours this past weekend.

On his return to starting duties in Hansi Flick’s XI following a recent spell on the sidelines, the 37-year-old bagged a hat-trick, en route to a 4-2 Blaugrana triumph over Celta Vigo.

Lewandowski now sits on seven goals scored in La Liga this season, despite having started just four times.
