Five members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will play no part in the club’s upcoming pre-season tour of the USA.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Barcelona, under the watch of new head coach Hansi Flick, are primed to jet off stateside later this week.
As much comes amid ongoing preparations for the new campaign.
As part of the tour, the Blaugrana’s stars will be pitted against a number of Europe’s leading clubs, including arch rivals Real Madrid, and Premier League champions Manchester City.
Playing no part in these fixtures, however, will be five important members of Hansi Flick’s ranks.
As per a report from AS, all of Gavi, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araújo and Ansu Fati have been informed that they will not be travelling with the rest of Barca’s squad in their journey stateside.
This comes with all five condemned to the treatment table at present, owing to respective injury problems.
