The 4 Barcelona stars at risk of suspension for 2nd leg vs Newcastle

A quartet of Barcelona players are at risk of being suspended for the 2nd leg of the club’s upcoming Champions League showdown with Newcastle United.

This comes owing to their respective yellow card records.

Barcelona are of course primed to kick their European campaign back into gear on Tuesday.

After securing their spot amongst the top-8 in the league phase of the Champions League, the Blaugrana have been pitted against the aforementioned Newcastle in the competition’s Last-16.

Hansi Flick is already unable to call upon several key players for the fixture, with the likes of Alejandro Balde, Frenkie de Jong and Gavi unavailable through injury.

And as alluded to above, the situation will become far worse in the case of several other Barca stars failing to walk the disciplinary tightrope at St. James’ Park.

Should any of Marc Casadó, Gerard Martín, Lamine Yamal or Fermín López be shown a yellow card on Tuesday, they will be suspended for the tie’s 2nd leg.
