Swap deal? Man United join hunt for Barcelona star

Another of the Premier League’s leading clubs have emerged as a summer suitor for Barcelona star Marc Casadó.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing CaughtOffside, who point towards Manchester United as the outfit in question.

Fresh off something of a breakout season in 2024/25, recent weeks have seen a number of Europe’s top clubs credited with an interest in Casadó’s signature.

The likes of Chelsea and Atlético Madrid are understood to consider the Spanish international the ideal addition with a view to next season.

Despite the rumours surrounding his name, Casadó, it has been insisted throughout, wants nothing more than to stay put and fight for his place in Hansi Flick’s squad over the years to come.

As alluded to above, though, this has not stopped another of the continent’s most recognisable clubs from making their interest in the 21-year-old known.

As per a report from MD:

‘While Arsenal and Chelsea inquired about the possible signing of Marc Casadó a few weeks ago, Manchester United have joined the list of Premier League teams interested in the midfielder.’

Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim is understood to view the Barca talent as an upgrade on Manuel Ugarte.

Could this sudden interest by way of Old Trafford now open the doors for a potential player exchange this summer?

Barcelona have long been keen on the services of an out-of-favour member of the attacking ranks at Man United, in Marcus Rashford.

Talks surrounding a possible swap deal involving Casadó and Rashford, in turn, cannot be ruled out over the weeks ahead.
