Super agent Jordge Mendes has this week highlighted client and Barcelona star Lamine Yamal as the frontrunner to win the next Ballon d’Or.
The name of youngster Lamine has of course been increasingly pushed in the debate surrounding world football’s best player of late.
This comes with the Spanish international, still just 17, continuing to light up domestic and European competition alike.
His recent performances in the semi-finals of the Champions League, in particular, saw many take note of the fact that Lamine, despite his tender years, should now be in the conversation for the standout player in the game.
And as alluded to above, one individual in no two minds when it comes to as much is Jorge Mendes.
Speaking to journalist Fabrizio Romano, in quotes relaid by Mundo Deportivo, this week, super agent Mendes revealed his take that client Lamine should be the outright favourite to lift the 2025 Ballon d’Or:
“Lamine Yamal deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this year. He’s been the best player in the world this season, that’s clear. Lamine’s level of performance has earned him the Ballon d’Or,”
