A member of the summer recruitment list at La Liga outfit Athletic Club on Saturday joined Ernesto Valverde’s squad in training for the first time.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Eder García as the player in question.
García, for his part, made the call to cross the Basque divide this summer, penning terms with Athletic after departing rivals Real Sociedad’s reserve team.
At the time, the 21-year-old was described by his new club (as cited by MD) as:
‘A dynamic midfielder who can get into the box, especially from the winger position, and who has played his second full season with Sanse this year, accumulating 74 matches and scoring 6 goals. The Errenteria native has been developing for seven seasons in the youth teams at Zubieta and played for Touring KE.’
And as alluded to above, this weekend, such qualities have culminated in García being drafted into the first-team setup in Bilbao.
As per a report from MD:
‘The main change (in Athletic training) was the arrival of Eder García. The attacking midfielder trained alongside the rest of the Lions, along with youngsters De Luis, Duñabeitia, and Ebro.’
