A summer exit from the first-team ranks at La Liga outfit Barcelona is yet to find a new club for himself.
The player in question? Oriol Romeu.
Midfielder Romeu of course brought a permanent close to his time on the books in Catalunya’s capital early last month.
This came after Barcelona announced that an agreement had been reached between the parties to terminate the 34-year-old’s contract with immediate effect.
Romeu was not part of the plans of Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick, after spending the 2024/25 campaign on loan with city rivals Girona.
The assumption, in turn, was that the one-time Southampton man would quickly find for himself a new club.
As much came amid links with a whole host of alleged suitors from across world football.
As of mid-October, however, no such club have gone as far as to close a deal with Romeu and his entourage.
The Spaniard therefore remains available as a free agent.
