Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an insight into the club’s plans for midfield standout Pedri in their upcoming showdown with Atlético Madrid.
And the news will no doubt come as music to the ears of those of a Blaugrana persuasion.
This comes amid confirmation that, all going according to plan, the Spanish international will feature from the off on Tuesday night.
Speaking during a press conference earlier today, Hansi Flick explained:
“Is Pedri fit to start? Yes he is fit and is an option to start.”
Pedri is for his part of course fresh off taking to the pitch for the first time in a month over the weekend.
After suffering a muscular injury en route to defeat at the hands of Real Madrid late in October, the 23-year-old was introduced off the bench as Barca put Deportivo Alavés to the sword on Saturday evening.
An absolutely pivotal figure in the Catalans’ engine room setup, he therefore looks set to feature from the off when they welcome in-form Atlético to the Spotify Camp Nou in 24 hours’ time.
