Spanish government rule out possibility of fans attending Copa del Rey finals

The Spanish FA were planning on holding both Copa del Rey finals with local fans present in Seville’s Estadio de la Cartuja on 3 April and 17 April.

On Wednesday evening, Spanish radio station Cadena SER confirmed that Spain’s Minister for Health, Carolina Darias, will overrule the federation’s plans. According to AS, the government’s decision is coming as a result of fearing that a return to public gatherings involving this amount of people (approximately 18,000) next month would send a mixed message as Spain eases out from the third wave of the pandemic.
