Spain players dominate UEFA EURO 2024 Team of the Tournament

Following the conclusion of the dramatic EURO 2024 tournament, UEFA’s Technical Observer panel has selected the 11 players to produce the official team of the tournament. Unsurprisingly, winners Spain have the most players in the starting lineup, with host nation Germany having just one player in the team.

Left-back Marc Cucurella was a standout performer for Spain, surprising many with his contribution in the final third. The Chelsea man was also solid defensively and did well against England winger Bukayo Saka during the final.

The midfield consists of the entire Spanish midfield. Rodri, who won player of the tournament, was a certain inclusion and he partners Fabian Ruiz. In front of them is Dani Olmo, who started every game after Pedri went off injured against Germany. The attacking midfielder played a significant role in Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph, scoring the winner against France in the semi-final.

Teenage sensation Yamine Lamal, who won the young player of the tournament prize, deservedly starts on the right of an electric frontline. On the other flank is 22-year-old Nico Williams, who coolly slotted past Jordan Pickford in the final after getting on the receiving end of a well-timed pass from Yamal.
