Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has chosen the one member of his squad who will not be called up for the country’s next outing.
The player in question? Aymeric Laporte.
Spain are of course primed to return to action on Saturday evening, in a World Cup qualifying meeting with Georgia.
In the buildup to the clash, La Roja have been forced to deal with a number of injury concerns, with both Dean Huijsen and Dani Olmo having been sent back to their clubs with fitness issues.
The former’s departure culminated in Athletic Club stopper Aymeric Laporte being called up in his place.
As alluded to above, however, the summer arrival in the Basque Country will play no part against Georgia.
Required to leave one of those called up out of his matchday setup on Saturday, Luis de la Fuente has officially opted for Laporte.
