Real Madrid summer signing Trent Alexander-Arnold has this week come in for some well-earned praise on the part of his former manager.
This comes after Arne Slot moved to make clear his appreciation for the creative abilities of the full-back.
Alexander-Arnold is of course fresh off making the biggest decision of his career to date.
After running his contract terms down with the aforementioned Liverpool, the 26-year-old made the call to take his talents to Spain, with the aforementioned Real Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold is expected to play a prominent role in Xabi Alonso’s squad over the season ahead, with his crossing and set-piece delivery set to add a new element to Los Blancos’ attack.
And as alluded to above, this week, it is precisely such gifts which have seen TAA come in for fresh praise on the part of his ex-headmaster.
Speaking during an exchange with the media, Liverpool boss Arne Slot explained:
“With Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving we have lost a lot of creativity from the back. Trent’s crosses and picking out runners was so special. Florian Wirtz has those qualities but in a different position.”
