‘Shouldn’t play another minute’ – Real Madrid fans in rare criticism of one player vs Atlético

Supporters of La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Saturday moved to take collective aim at a member of the club’s midfield ranks.

The player in question? Federico Valverde.

Xabi Alonso’s Real are of course currently locked in action on the domestic front.

Sitting pretty atop the La Liga table, Los Blancos have made the short trip to the Metropolitano, for a showdown with city rivals Atlético.

A pulsating affair has since played out to date, featuring goals, drama, and consistent showcases of sheer attacking quality.

As alluded to above, however, whilst some have shone bright on Saturday evening, others have badly struggled.

On the Real Madrid side of things, the likes of Jude Bellingham, Álvaro Carreras and Dean Huijsen have all looked some way below their best.

And yet, it is another member of Xabi Alonso’s squad who has been subjected to more widespread criticism than any other.

The player in question? Federico Valverde.

So often labelled ‘Mr. Consistent’, Uruguayan international Valverde has struggled to make any sort of telling impact on proceedings at the Metropolitano.

To the point that the Blancos faithful have turned on their side’s engine room star, in nothing short of ruthless fashion:
