The respective boards at La Liga clubs Sevilla and Villarreal could not find an agreement after sitting down for a fresh round of transfer negotiations this weekend.
That’s according to market insider Matteo Moretto, who has on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.
It has long been common knowledge across Spain that Villarreal have set their sights on the signature of Rubén Vargas.
Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline, the Yellow Submarine consider the Swiss the ideal profile of player.
Talks, in turn, have long been ongoing with the aforementioned Sevilla.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, a fresh meeting was held between the two La Liga rivals.
As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto, however:
‘Sevilla are not yielding to Villarreal regarding Rubén Vargas. The contacts maintained in the morning have not led to an agreement between the clubs.’
