Sevilla dealt injury blow before Osasuna clash

La Liga outfit Sevilla have this week been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that striker Isaac Romero is set for an incoming spell on the treatment table.

Frontman Romero for his part featured from the off this past weekend, as Sevilla made the trip to Spain’s capital to lock horns with Atlético Madrid.

En route to an eventual 3-0 defeat, however, the 25-year-old picked up an injury problem, the extent of which has on Wednesday been revealed.

As per a statement across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms:

‘The team is halfway through preparations for their next league match, this Saturday at home against CA Osasuna. Isaac Romero will be unavailable for the game, having missed Wednesday’s training session. According to the club’s medical staff, he has suffered an adductor injury in his right leg and his recovery is being monitored.’

The expectation is that Romero is set to spend the next two to three weeks on the sidelines.

News of the latest personnel blow in his squad could not come at a worse time for Sevilla boss Matías Almeyda, amid a stretch of three consecutive La Liga defeats for the Nervionenses since the international break.
