La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Wednesday announced a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks.
The player in question? Kelechi Iheanacho.
The name of frontman Iheanacho has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Seville over the course of the last week.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the powers that be at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán had identified the Nigerian international as a market opportunity.
After the expiration of his contract with Leicester City in England, Iheanacho was earmarked as a cut-price option to replace Youssef En-Nesyri in the Sevilla frontline.
Negotiations, in turn, were swiftly kicked into gear between the two parties.
And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, such talks have officially borne fruit.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Nervionenses:
‘Kelechi Iheanacho has become our fifth signing of the summer. He signs on a two-year deal and arrives as a free agent, having spent last season at Leicester City.’
Iheanacho joins Albert Sambi Lokonga, Peque Fernández, Saúl Ñíguez and Chidera Ejuke as reinforcements to García Pimienta’s squad this summer.
