Sevilla agree transfer deal with Benfica

La Liga outfit Sevilla have agreed on the terms of the sale of a member of the club’s attacking ranks, ahead of the transfer deadline.

The player primed to depart Nervion? Dodi Lukébakio.

The name of winger Lukébakio has proven a prominent one in the media chatter surrounding Sevilla for several weeks now.

This comes after word was forthcoming that, amid mounting interest in the Belgian from across the continent, the brass at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán were giving real consideration to sanctioning his sale.

And as alluded to above, on deadline day, one of Lukébakio’s many suitors have indeed convinced Sevilla to part with their attacking star.

Portuguese heavyweights Benfica, it is understood, have put a deal in place to land the 27-year-old on a permanent basis.

As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Dodi Lukebakio to Benfica, here we go! Agreement done between clubs with Sevilla and medical on Monday. Lukebakio signs deal until June 2030.’
