Sergio Reguilón could return to Sevilla as Ludwig Augustinsson looks set to depart

So far this summer, Sevilla have made one signing. Brazilian centre-back Marcao has been bought from Galatasaray as a replacement for Diego Carlos.

Diego Carlos was sold to Aston Villa. Alejandro Pozo and Luuk de Jong have moved to Almería and PSV Eindhoven respectively, and Óscar Rodríguez has gone on loan to Celta Vigo for the season.

The next to leave could be left-back Ludwig Augustinsson, who looks set to join Villa on loan, where he would join up with Diego Carlos.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Sevilla could receive €500,000 for the loan until the end of the season and Villa would have a non-mandatory option to buy at the end of the season.

The Swede has not fitted into Julen Lopetegui’s plans since joining the club. He came in as an option along with Argentinian left-back Marcos Acuña but Karim Rekik looks to be the preferred back-up for Acuña.

Augustinsson’s replacement could be an old acquaintance of Julen Lopetegui’s, Sergio Reguilón, who is out of favour with Antonio Conté at Tottenham.

The former Real Madrid full-back has been left out of the Spurs squad for their tour of South Korea and will therefore miss the friendly against Sevilla on 16 July.

Reguilón played for Sevilla on loan from Madrid in the 2019-20 season, performing superbly in the team that won the Europa League. This operation would not be easy financially and Sevilla are considering a loan move. The player earns a high salary at Spurs and cost the London club €30 million.
