Speaking in his post-match interview after Real Madrid’s crucial 1-0 win over Athletic Club at San Mames on Sunday, captain Sergio Ramos admitted it’s a huge win for his side.
“We want that league title and this win puts pressure on Barcelona. We had 11 finals left and knew we weren’t going to win 3-0 today, we knew it would be tough. All I think about is the three points. In those moments of doubt I just want to take responsibility. The individual recognition is secondary for me. I would’ve played tennis if I wanted individual recognition.”
Madrid now lead the La Liga table by seven points. Barcelona take on Villarreal on Sunday night.
