Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos has confirmed his hopes that his former employers will put arch rivals Barcelona to the sword this coming weekend.
The season’s first edition of El Clásico is of course set to play out on Sunday afternoon, at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The matchup will pit La Liga’s top two against one another, in what is already being billed by many as a potential long-term title-decider.
Last season, Barcelona utterly dominated the Clásico, emerging triumphant from all four fixtures across all competitions.
This time round, though, Real Madrid look far better equipped to deal with their most bitter rivals.
And one individual hopeful that this will indeed prove to be the case, as alluded to above, comes in the form of Sergio Ramos.
Drawn on this weekend’s headline fixture in his home country during an interview with El Chiringuito TV, Blancos icon Ramos responded:
“El Clásico? You already know I’m with Real Madrid till I die. I hope Madrid wins and my brother ‘Kyky’ (Mbappé) puts in a great performance.”
