Saúl Ñíguez wants to leave Atlético Madrid

According to Marca, Atlético Madrid midfielder Saúl Ñiguez wants to leave the club.

The Spanish midfielder has watched many games from the stands this season and was also substituted in some decisive matches which, in his case, has only increased his desire to take another direction in his career.

Saúl had expressed his desire to leave to his entourage at one of the toughest moments of the season, after the draw against Getafe. One of those leaks that Atlético, logically, did not like because of the inopportune moment in which it occurred. Saúl’s idea is still to leave the Wanda Metropolitano this summer, reportedly a move that he already devised in his head in the summer of 2019 and he has been frustrated by the lack of substantial offers. Atleti then valued the midfielder at €70 million, with a clause of €150 million.

As club CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín said exclusively in Marca, it will be the player who will decide when to leave the club, who will respect his decision as long as an offer that satisfies all parties comes in.

Atlético winning LaLiga is a great success that, despite everything, has not changed Saúl’s thoughts regarding his future at the club after closing what has undoubtedly been his worst season on an individual level.

Juventus appear strongly as a possible destination. Despite his lacklustre campaign, his career and style of play have led clubs from the continent’s most powerful leagues to set their sights on the midfielder. Bayern Munich, Manchester United, a club he has been linked with over the last few summers, Juventus, who are aiming to make a bid after a disappointing season, and PSG, have all knocked on the player’s door.
