Saudi fund confirm interest in signing of one Barcelona & two Real Madrid stars

A senior official at the national Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia has confirmed that they are keen to bring a trio of big-name La Liga stars to the Middle East for next season.

The first comes from reigning Spanish champions Barcelona, in the form of Robert Lewandowski.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, after ruling out a winter swoop for the Pole, whose contract terms are due to expire next summer, the PIF representative confirmed:

‘The possibility of negotiating his signing could be considered next summer.’

Turning focus towards the other half of the Clásico divide, and a pair of Real Madrid defenders are on the agenda in the Saudi Pro League, too.

Specifically, ahead of the close of their respective terms at the Bernabéu in 2026, David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger have emerged as leading transfer targets.

It is concluded that:

‘The trio represent an ideal opportunity to be offered to Saudi clubs as free signings when their contracts expire.’
