Real Madrid’s supporters have on Sunday evening taken firm aim at manager Xabi Alonso.
This comes after Los Blancos were condemned to another defeat at the hands of arch rivals Barcelona.
The latest edition of El Clásico was played to completion a short time ago, on this occasion in the finale of the Spanish Super Cup.
When all was said and done, it was Barcelona who emerged on the right side of a 3-2 result, following a pulsating 90 minutes.
And as alluded to above, in the time since, those of a Real Madrid persuasion have pointed the finger of blame squarely in one direction: that of Xabi Alonso.
The Spanish tactician was responsible for several puzzling substitutions during the 2nd-half this evening, which left Los Blancos’ supporters scratching their heads.
Amid a hit-and-miss season to date, many, in turn, have gone as far as to call for Alonso to be sent on his way with immediate effect:
