Rodrygo happy at Real Madrid despite Premier League interest

An update on the future of Real Madrid player Rodrygo has been provided today, amid recent reports linking him with a move to the Premier League.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Madrid are very happy with the 23-year-old and internally they view him as an important part of the project. Likewise, Rodrygo himself is content with his situation at Los Blancos where he feels very important and wants to play even more seasons at the Bernabéu.

Despite the expected arrival of France superstar Kylian Mbappé and imminent arrival of Brazilian prodigy Endrick, the forward remains committed to the Spanish giants and will fight for a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting lineup next season. The Brazil international wants to stay at the club due to their performances in both the league and the UEFA Champions League.

Rodrygo also recently signed a new deal, which commits him to the club until June 2028 and this includes a €1B release clause. Although, recent reports have suggested that the electric winger could be tempted by offer from elite Premier League clubs, this contract alone shows that the player intends to remain in the Spanish capital for the foreseeable future.

Rodrygo put in a terrific performance against Manchester City in last night’s first leg Champions League quarter-final with the striker putting his side ahead in the 14th minute. The Brazilian will likely play an important role in the reverse fixture next week, as Madrid look to advance to the semi-finals following their 3-3 draw with the holders.
