Robert Lewandowski knocked out of Champions League with Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski was one of Barcelona’s most frustrated players after yet another defeat to Bayern Munich. The Polish striker has suffered a huge setback in his first couple of months at Camp Nou by being knocked out of the Champions League. He also failed to score against his former team.

Lewandowski left the Allianz Arena to win trophies and had not been knocked out of the Champions League group stage since his first appearance in the competition for Borussia Dortmund in 2011-12. He reached the last 16 of the competition in nine of the last 10 seasons.

Lewandowski meets former team-mates

After the match, according to German outlet Sport1, Lewandowski went to the Bayern dressing room to chat with his former team-mates. “Lewy was with us in the dressing room. We had a brief exchange of ideas, but we didn’t go into it in any depth. He’s a good guy and we wish him all the best,” Hasan Salihamidzic, the German club’s sporting director, was quoted as saying.
