Referee Jesús Gil Manzano could be in line for an upcoming disciplinary measure on the part of La Liga.
This comes as a result of his performance in last weekend’s meeting between Real Sociedad and Barcelona.
Hansi Flick’s reigning Spanish champions of course made the trip to Anoeta last Sunday, for a league clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana were condemned to a surprise 2-1 defeat, in an outing packed with drama and controversy.
And along the way, the aforementioned Gil Manzano, tasked with overseeing the matchup, produced a display which evidently did not sit well with those in charge of Spanish football.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the official could be in line for an upcoming ‘rest’, for the final round of La Liga fixtures in January.
This would serve as a form of punishment, for ‘not meeting the expected standard’ of the refereeing leadership.
