A member of the summer recruitment drive at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad has on Saturday been afforded a place in the club’s matchday setup for the first time this season.
The player in question? Yangel Herrera.
Midfielder Yangel for his part swapped Girona for La Liga rivals La Real on deadline day last month.
The Venezuelan, however, has since been condemned to the sidelines owing to a pre-existing injury problem.
Yangel linked up with his new teammates in training in San Sebastian for the first time this week, giving rise to hope of a call up to face Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
And as alluded to above, a day out from the fixture, the 27-year-old has indeed been included in Sergio Francisco’s squad.
It now remains to be seen if Yangel is considered well enough to take to the pitch for his Real Sociedad debut at Anoeta tomorrow evening.
