The board at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have decided on the successor to Sergio Francisco on the club’s bench.
This comes amid confirmation that Pellegrino Matarazzo is being lined up to take up the reins in San Sebastian.
Real Sociedad are of course fresh off bringing an end to the short-lived and hugely disappointing spell endured by the aforementioned Francisco at Anoeta.
Sitting 15th in the Spanish top-flight table, a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Girona on Friday proved enough for La Real’s hierarchy to send their manager on his way with immediate effect.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the next-in-line to take over at Sociedad already appears to have been chosen.
As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto, writing for Marca:
‘Pellegrino Matarazzo, as we have exclusively reported to Radio MARCA, is the name chosen by the sporting management of Real Sociedad to take over on the bench.’
American Matarazzo for his part most recently took his place on the bench at Bundesliga outfit TSG Hoffenheim back in the 2023/24 campaign.
