An insight into the line-up expected to be fielded by Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti for the club’s impending showdown with Barcelona has been provided this afternoon.
The latest chapter of the Clásico story, of course, is primed to play out on Sunday night.
After Real Madrid battled their way past city rivals Atlético in the competition’s first semi-final, Barcelona did likewise against Osasuna, to set up a highly-anticipated Supercopa de España finale clash.
Ahead of the matchup, widespread chatter has centered on team news, with Real, in particular, having welcomed back a host of key players from injury over the course of the last few weeks.
With this in mind, it has been suggested that Carlo Ancelotti could opt to shake up his XI on Sunday, both to share minutes across his squad, and, potentially, throw Barca counterpart Xavi off.
In turn, late this afternoon, an insight into the XI expected to be depended upon by the Blancos’ headmaster in 24 hours’ time has been forthcoming.
The news comes courtesy of Relevo, who, based on the available info stemming from the club’s Riyadh training ground, predict just a solitary change to the side that faced Atlético.
The change in question will come in the middle of the park, where Toni Kroos is in line to replace Luka Modrić on the left of the midfield diamond.
This, of course, would mean that the under-fire Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to keep his place between the posts.
Real Madrid’s expected XI to face Barcelona:
Kepa; Carvajal, Rüdiger, Nacho, Mendy; Valverde, Tchouaméni, Kroos, Bellingham; Rodrygo & Vinicius
