Real Madrid’s Franco Mastantuono sends Ballon d’Or message to Lamine Yamal

Real Madrid summer signing Franco Mastantuono has sent a message of congratulations the way of Barcelona counterpart Lamine Yamal.

This of course comes fresh off the latter’s talents being recognised at this week’s Ballon d’Or ceremony.

Lamine finished as runner-up in the voting for the latest ‘Golden Ball’, beaten out by former Barcelona wide-man Ousmane Dembélé.

Despite the disappointment of missing out on the title of world football’s best player, the Spanish international has been widely hailed for the achievement of a 2nd-placed finish at just 18 years of age.

And as alluded to above, adding his name to this list of Lamine’s backers on Tuesday was Franco Mastantuono.

Speaking to the media after opening his account in the colours of Real Madrid against Levante last night, Argentine Mastantuono explained:

“Lamine Yamal? I congratulate him on the second place in the Ballon d’Or. He’s an amazing player, obviously I don’t need to say that. I try not to compare myself with anyone.”
