An insight into the plans of those behind the scenes at La Liga giants Real Madrid to make up for the incoming departure of Dani Ceballos has on Wednesday been forthcoming online.
And the news is unlikely to go down all too well with those of a Blancos persuasion…
Midfielder Ceballos is of course now widely understood to be on the verge of a departure from Spain’s capital.
This comes with Real Madrid ready to sanction a loan deal featuring an obligation to buy with French outfit Olympique Marseille.
The hope of countless supporters of the capital heavyweights, in turn, was that Florentino Pérez and co. would now dip back into the market, to secure a high-profile replacement.
As alluded to above, however, if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, then no such move is expected.
As per a report from COPE:
‘The club is not considering signing anyone to replace Ceballos.’
Instead, youngster Thiago Pitarch has been tipped to make the step up to a consistent first-team berth in Xabi Alonso’s squad.
*Update* – Ceballos’ Marseille switch is now understood to have broken down at the last.
