Real Madrid’s fans sent a collective message to Vinícius Jr. outside the Bernabéu after red card vs Villarreal

Real Madrid’s fans came together to showcase their collective support for under-fire attacking star Vinícius Jr. on Saturday evening. This of course comes after the Brazilian almost cost his side dear in their return to action following the international break.

José Mourinho’s men kicked their campaign back into gear last night, welcoming Villarreal to Spain’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, Los Blancos secured a much-needed return to winning ways, courtesy of a solitary strike on the part of summer signing Yan Diomandé.

The aforementioned Vinícius Jr, however, endured an evening to forget from an individual standpoint. Introduced off the bench, the 26-year-old appeared to have put Real Madrid out of sight in finding the net 20 minutes from time.

A subsequent VAR check revealed that Vinícius, as part of the sequence, had pulled the hair of Villarreal’s Nathan Saliba in a bid to gain an advantage. He was therefore shown a straight red card, leaving his teammates to see out the remainder of the fixture with 10 men, and just a goal to the good.

Post-match, many, in turn, were quick to take firm aim at the talented winger.

As alluded to above, though, one particular set of Real Madrid supporters instead made use of the opportunity to throw their backing behind Vinícius.

Coming together outside the Santiago Bernabéu following the full-time whistle, the fans in question surrounded the departing Vini’s car, to collectively cheer and chant his name:
