Real Madrid’s double appeal rejected by La Liga ahead of Sevilla

Real Madrid have this afternoon been dealt a double blow on the personnel front.

As much comes by way of confirmation that a pair of recent appeals on the part of the club’s board have been rejected by the Spanish football authorities.

Real, this week, requested for the most recent cards handed down to key pair Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Carvajal to be revoked.

The former was booked for the 5th time this season against Rayo Vallecano over the weekend, giving rise to a one-match suspension.

Stopper Carvajal, meanwhile, was shown a quick-fire pair of yellows, and ensuing red, in the closing stages of the action at the Estadio de Vallecas.

He, too, was therefore forced to face up to a one-game ban.

Amid what has long represented something of a personnel crisis in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, the powers that be at the Santiago Bernabéu, in turn, lodged official appeals with regards to both sanctions earlier this week.

As alluded to above, though, neither have ultimately proven to be successful.

As per Spanish outlet COPE, among other sources, both Carvajal and Camavinga will therefore be unavailable for selection when Real Madrid play host to Sevilla in La Liga this weekend.
