Real Madrid talent Jesús Fortea is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
This comes owing to an ankle injury suffered during a recent outing in the colours of Real Madrid Castilla.
Right-back Fortea was for his part in from the off this week, as Los Blancos locked horns with English outfit Southampton in the Premier League International Cup.
En route to an eventual 1-1 draw, however, the Spaniard was forced into a premature departure from the action during the first-half.
Upon his return to Madrid, Fortea, in turn, was put through a round of medical tests.
And the tests in question have since revealed damage to the ligaments in the young defender’s left ankle, enough, according to Marca, to condemn him to a spell of around three weeks on the treatment table.
This actually marks something of a relief behind the scenes at Real Madrid, after it was suggested that Fortea could have been sidelined for the long-term.
