Real Madrid to make late offer to PSG for Kylian Mbappé

With just over a week remaining in the summer transfer window, Kylian Mbappé’s contractual situation remains unchanged. Despite rejoining the PSG team after spending several weeks sidelined, he made a triumphant return last weekend by scoring against Toulouse.

However, Mbappé’s contract is still set to expire in 2024, and while discussions have seen some progress between the club and the team’s star player, they haven’t significantly advanced. As things stand, Mbappé will be free to negotiate with clubs interested in his services starting from January 1, 2024. Among the prominent clubs expressing interest in the young talent is Real Madrid.

It’s worth noting that even though Real Madrid have begun the season positively with two wins in La Liga, concerns persist among observers and fans due to the team’s lack of depth in the attacking department. Joselu is the only recognised number nine in the squad. While Carlo Ancelotti has achieved promising results so far by deploying the Vinícius-Rodrygo duo alongside Jude Bellingham, this new offensive formation doesn’t assure long-term success, particularly in light of upcoming major European matches.

Can Real Madrid risk relying on the two young Brazilians as their primary strikers or depend on Joselu, who lacks significant experience on the continental stage? Many consider this to be a gamble.

This uncertainty is why possibilities should remain open until the transfer window closes. If Mbappé’s contractual situation remains unchanged, there’s a chance that Real Madrid could make an offer following the PSG match against Lens this weekend, according to FM.

A last-minute marquee signing would also have financial implications for PSG. Real Madrid would finally secure a key offensive player capable of scoring around 30 goals per season. Mbappé would achieve his dream, and PSG would receive a substantial transfer fee. However, it’s important to acknowledge that intense negotiations would need to take place within a limited timeframe.
