A transfer merry-go-round between three of Europe’s most recognisable clubs could well be kicked into gear by La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into what could prove to be one of the stories of the upcoming transfer window.
It is of course common knowledge that the brass at Real Madrid have set their sights firmly on reinforcements at left-back with a view to next season.
Bayern Munich standout Alphonso Davies, in turn, has been identified as Los Blancos’ leading target.
With the Canadian, to this point, having knocked back any and all attempts on the part of the Bayern board to extend his expiring contract, a joining of forces with Carlo Ancelotti’s Real is beginning to look an increasingly likely possibility.
And as much could well prove the spark required for a further pair of high-profile left-back transfers.
German champions Bayern, it is understood, have earmarked AC Milan’s Theo Hernández as their priority target to replace Davies, in the case of the latter moving on.
And should the Bavarians prove successful in their pursuit, the transfer team at San Siro would turn their attentions towards Madrid, and a Ferland Mendy set to be knocked down the Real pecking order by the arriving Davies.
