La Liga giants Real Madrid could make use of a new-look central defensive partnership when all players are fit and firing this coming season.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the situation.
Real Madrid have of course added to the options at the heart of new boss Xabi Alonso’s backline already this summer.
As much came by way of a big-money deal for Bournemouth standout Dean Huijsen.
Considered by most to be the future of the defensive ranks at the Santiago Bernabéu, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of a starting berth being readied for the youngster.
Huijsen’s partner, though, may come as more of a surprise.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of AS that, upon recovering full fitness, Éder Militão is expected to overtake Antonio Rüdiger in Los Blancos’ defensive pecking order:
‘It seems that Huijsen and Militão will be the starters, with Rüdiger and Asencio completing the squad.’
