Real Madrid summer signing joined Toni Kroos in an exclusive club with performance vs Osasuna

A head-turning statistic, highlighting the on-ball excellence of Real Madrid star Dean Huijsen in the club’s meeting with Osasuna, has come to the fore online.

Real Madrid were of course back in action on Tuesday night.

In the opening fixture of their 2025/26 campaign, Los Blancos welcomed the aforementioned Osasuna to Spain’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, Xabi Alonso’s troops emerged on the right side of a 1-0 result, owing to a solitary Kylian Mbappé strike.

The aforementioned Dean Huijsen, meanwhile, featured from the off, his first appearance in Spain’s top-flight.

And to say that the summer arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu looked at home in the colours of his new club would be putting it lightly.

To the point that, as alluded to above, Huijsen secured for himself a piece of recent Spanish football history against Osasuna.

As revealed by statisticians Sofascore:

‘Last three times an outfield player completed more than 15 accurate long balls in a LaLiga match:

  • Toni Kroos on 4 Feb 2024 (16/18 v Atlético)
  • Toni Kroos on 25 Feb 2024 (18/21 v Sevilla)
  • Dean Huijsen on 19 Aug 2025′
