Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold has endured a tough time of things in his adaptation to things in Spain’s capital since his summer arrival from Liverpool.
That’s according to Marca, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.
Alexander-Arnold’s efforts to establish himself in the first-choice XI of manager Xabi Alonso have of course not been helped by fitness problems, the latest of which kept the Englishman sidelined for over a month.
The 27-year-old returned to competitive duties this past weekend, but was an unused substitute en route to Real Madrid’s victory over arch rivals Barcelona.
With just two La Liga starts to his name to date, it is safe to say that Alexander-Arnold has not exactly set the world alight to this point in his Spanish adventure.
And as alluded to above, this week, something of an insight into why has come to the fore online.
As per a report from Marca:
‘The former Liverpool player hasn’t managed to establish himself as a right-back, amid struggles to adapt to Xabi’s approach.’
With Dani Carvajal having today been condemned to a long-term spell on the treatment table, the time has come for TAA to step up, to prove why Real Madrid pushed so hard for his signature over the summer.
