Real Madrid stars Vinícius, Tchouaméni & Valverde join Andriy Lunin love-in

Several high-profile members of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid squad have this evening moved to showcase their appreciation for goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

This comes owing to what has since been widely labelled as his best-ever performance between the posts in Real’s colours.

Los Blancos marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to Germany for the first leg of the club’s Champions League Last-16 tie with RB Leipzig.

And, when all was said and done, the evening’s visitors emerged on the right side of a narrow 1-0 result.

Brahim Díaz was the man on target, owing to a sumptuous run and bending finish early in the 2nd-half at the Red Bull Arena.

But, in truth, it was Lunin who stole the show, courtesy of no fewer than nine saves over the course of the 90 minutes.

And, as alluded to above, as much has since been echoed by several headline members of Real Madrid’s first-team ranks.

Speaking on the back of the full-time whistle in Germany, Fede Valverde was asked who he felt ‘thankful’ for en route to his side’s latest victory.

And the Uruguayan showed little hesitation in responding:

“Lunin. He was magnificent. He did a very mature job.”

And Valverde has since been followed in turn by a further trio of teammates – namely Vinícius Jr, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Brahim Díaz – in joining the Lunin love-in across social media:
